    OMG! I mentioned the hairline thing yesterday, but had no idea that Berkeley Breathed was thinking along the same lines!

    (Yes, yes, I’m aware that these strips are from 1989, but honestly I don’t think I ever read this particular arc.)

    Fun fact: In 1979, minoxidil was approved for the treatment of hard-to-control high blood pressure. Doctor’s noted that patients on minoxidil experienced the side effect of excessive hair growth. This was especially problematic in children.

    They started to prescribe it off-label to balding patients.

    In 1988, topical minoxidil, rebranded as Rogaine, was approved for the treatment of baldness in men.

    This strip is riffing on that history.
