Sluggo: Pumped a lot of paint down in New Orleans! There's a bathroom on the right!
Nancy: You're singing the WRONG WORDS to all those creedence songs!
Sluggo: Some singers give people what they want to hear. I give them what they THINK they hear!
Have you ever been deranged? And I wonder, Still I wonder, Whoâll stop Lorraine.Oh Lord, stalking an old guy again.Have you ever seen Lorraine? (That Lorraine ainât nothinâ but trouble)Memories benevolent, of playing in the bandâŠâŠâŠâŠ..kissthisguy.com
Actually, John Fogarty has been known to sing the âBathroom on the Rightâ lyrics on occasion during live performances of âBad Moon Risingâ. And John Mammoser has done a song called âBathroom on the Rightâ which has gotten a lot of play on the Dr. Demento Show. So Sluggo may be singing the wrong lyrics, but itâs still okay to do it. Just look at Weird Al.
âȘDead ants are my friends; theyâre blowinâ in the windâȘâȘSheâs got a chicken to rideâȘâȘDonuts make my brown eyes blueâȘâȘJust brush my teeth before you leave me, babyâȘ
FWIW, Weird Al, Allan Sherman, et al, are a different category altogether. They deliberately parody songs by changing the words (or adding them, in the case of âHello Muddah, Hello Faddahâ). The humor Sluggoâs expressing is misheard lyricsâ check the website I referenced, kissthisguy.com (from Jimi Hendrixâs ââCuse me while I kiss the sky.â) for more hilarious examples.

Darn. I kinda liked the imagery of tree branches swaying in a summer wind, so that the stars seem to move among the leaves.

I forgot Spike Jones and the City Slickers. Very popular from the thirties through the fifties. Their number one song was Der Furerâs Face.
