As soon as they get boyfriends, it will stop.

Maybe not if they aren’t doing it just for attention.

A voice of sanity in the stupidity. The idea that they are only doing it to either hurt their parents or until they get boyfriends is based on the idiotic notion that teenaged girls do not have real feelings.

They do. However, bad feelings does not warrant bad behavior. The bad behavior might actually stop if the adults acknowledged their feelings, that they understand they miss their old life but that it does not give them the right to take their feelings out on others.

No, instead, it’s punish, belittle and ignore. And then people wonder why women suffer higher rates of depression.

This is a cartoon. These characters are only ink on paper drawn by Lynn Johnston. They don’t really have issues, emotional, psychological or otherwise, beyond what Lynn gives them.

Hang in there! If the series continues on schedule, one of the girls will be featured in one of the best episodes of this strip (my opinion – see if you agree) Coming Mon. 7-11

I was thinking John meant they were acting gloomy because people were treating them like strangers. Pretty stupid of me, huh?

They will only act out till they make new friends. Boy or girl, probably some of both. Friends or lovers? It is up to them.

Man, this arc is really bringing ’em out of the woodwork! Good going, Lynn!

Probably not the first week they are there…especially if they had to leave behind boyfriends.
