Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for May 24, 2016

Six months ago Vince was mentioned as a past “temptation” of Janis. At the time I looked him up and found some references in JJ’s blog. According to it, Vince was a regular guest of the strip in the spring of 1993. Unfortunately, the archives here at GoComics only go back to May of 1994.  I think these three strips taken from the blog give us a good idea of Janis and Vince’s relationship: I also observed that Vince looks a lot like the adult version of Gene… oooooohhhh kaaaaaay…..

Interesting. Perhaps we now know for certain why Janis used to be so suspicious of Arlo. She was projecting.

Now if Arlo accepted a friend request from his old office wife…what was her name?

So weird that she’ll delete a friend request from a guy who she had no feelings for but whom she shares an embarrassing incident with, but yet she’ll friend her office husband from years ago. Playing with fire is definitely a good saying for this decision!

I had forgotten either Arlo or Janice ever worked. Now they just sit around the house all day.

I noticed the same thing about the Gene similarity (pun intended). Maybe Janis has a secret?

Hmmmmm…. This goes along with what I said a few days ago. Thanks Strod for bringing up the old strips. There appears to be a distance between Janis and Arlo, but not due to Arlo’s lack of love/attention. He’s trying, Janis simply doesn’t have the fire anymore…

20 years is a long time. What does Vince look like today. Full head of hair and six pack abs, or bald and a paunch?Stay tuned!!!!

Maybe he was the son of Vince Gibson who coached football at Kansas State back in the late 60s.

“I’m lucky to have this job” I remember that from the 90’s.We had a manager who said that every chance he got,and even had the nerve to suggest we work unpaid over time!That idea got shot down real quick let me tell you!

If Vince and Janis were friends they could have stayed in touch over the years.

It simply reminds me I should clean up my FB friends. Many I NEVER communicate with to begin with!

Vince looks like Gene. Oh oh.

But wait. Vince will probably wind-up being a disabled veteran – disabled in a way which poses no “threat”.

Quite a hug Janis is giving Vince. Watch out Arlo!

3rd panel says it all. I read it as; Janis had an affair after she and Arlo had been married for perhaps 5 years. I don’t think Gene is the product of Vince, as Gene is older than 19-20. I wonder if she hid her body from Vince as she does with Arlo, or if she relished his gazes on her as she dressed?
