    How can it not be? It works well for animals that evolve alongside humans and other life that may find them appealing and childlike in their own species nature.

    Heck polls show people think most young animals are cuter than human babies.

    Human babies should look cute. If a baby doesn’t look cute there’s probably something wrong with it. This is part of the “uncanny valley” effect – that is, we can deal with anthropomorphic animals and E.T. and R2D2 that are totally nonhuman, but get weirded out by human-like images that are “just not quite right” (eyes too close or far apart, ears unusually placed), precisely because they suggest abnormal humans.
