Cupcake the Siamese cat survived being packed and mailed in a box for eight days- traveling 260 miles across England. There is no such thing as a funny bone- it's actually a nerve that runs inside your elbow! When her husband Philip died in 1506, Queen Juana of Spain had his coffin accompany her everywhere she went.

Of course, the “funny bone” couldn’t possibly be called that because of the humerus, could it?

And to think Victoria of England (about 3½ centuries later) grieved hard over Albert’s death.

Juana still didn’t trust him even after he was dead?
Chad Cheetah over 8 years ago
No, the funny bone and humerus are separate body parts.

What’s funny is that it isn’t a bone and it’s not so funny when stimulated.

It’s named the Ulnar nerve that they are refering to.From wikipedia.“This nerve can cause an electric shock-like sensation by striking the medial epicondyle of the humerus from posteriorly, or inferiorly with the elbow flexed. The ulnar nerve is trapped between the bone and the overlying skin at this point. This is commonly referred to as bumping one’s “funny bone”. This name is thought to be a pun, based on the sound resemblance between the name of the bone of the upper arm, the “humerus” and the word “humorous”.1 Alternatively, according to the Oxford English Dictionary it may refer to “the peculiar sensation experienced when it is struck”..\\//_

Eight days to travel 260 miles??? And I thought the USPS was slow. My apologies to the USPS, compared to the UK, the USPS moves at light speed.

I am sure that this comic was more sensational back in the days when you we didn’t have all the world’s knowledge hiding in our pants pocket. :)

Whoever mailed this poor cat ought to be arrested. Plain stupid, and cruel as well.

Smart. I’m thinking Queen Juana didn’t want to be married again. The extremes women had to go to be independent back then.
