Like you, John, I enjoy distinguishing myself from the youngsters (Millennials?). For example, children will always be “kids” or “kiddies” to me. Not “kiddos”. (Of course, using “kiddo” in a snarky tone to address someone, young or old, is an acceptable Boomer practice).

I use that phrase all the time. I relish uncoolness (the new cool).

Nah. True cool is a state of mind, not trends (in language or anything else). And most definitely not bestowed or taken away by others.
