He was 17 for most of the last book, which is the drinking age in England. He finished the book at age 42 (I knew those books were long, but that’s ridiculous)
Hey it’s England - and wizarding England at that. They start much younger.
Butjfmcenanly, I think at the end of the epilogue he was only 36. Not that it really matters, because he probably had a lot of chances to work on hangover cures by that time.
Hate hangovers, which is why I drink so little to begin with…
Good Morning to pamlicorat, Lonewolf, Grog, Little Sister, Big Sister, MontanaLady, LuvH8 (now Knocks Over Beer), Gweedo, lightenup and all fellow BC’ers!!!
I’ve been fortunate to rarely get hangovers. You’d think that there’d be a spell to never get a hangover though.
Good morning, Tanya, Grog, pamlicorat, Little Sister, Big Sister, MontanaLady and everyone! (Whew! this is why I usually just say hello to “everyone”) :-)
If it were Dutch rather than Deutsche, it would have been Grolsch. Maybe that’s what Jongeheer Pottenbakker was drinking the night before at Okshoofd Taverne. And if he turned up for class in the morning with a hangover, he would certainly have gotten in Dutch with his teachers.
(If he turned up with a Hannover, German would probably be appropriate.)

Dry Spell is good for the truly repentant. for the rest of you I’d concoct a bit of the hair of the dog that bit you,
Harry drinking at 17? Like you didn’t have a fake ID?

Good Morning Tanya, Little Sister, Gweedo Murrary, Knock Over Beer, and Everyone
Boy, am I getting old! I remember when the first Harry Potter Book came out and if that was in BC, I must be very old and I don’t even exercise.

Never got into Harry Potter. I am familiar with Sherman T. Potter though. I suppose he’s been known to go through a dry spell.

Considering that Mr. Radcliffe has a drinking problem, that isn’t very funny. But I like it anyway!!!
