The unemployed husband and the bratty kid will be gone by the time she gets home from her high powered job.

I guess leaving her for someone younger is out of the question.

Unemployed house keeping husband, sounds okay, where do I sign? (I will need a good car, so I can run “errands”).

Susie may know about high powered jobs, but she knows nothing about being a good hostess.

Gees, keep it simple and play doctor like we did in the 1940s.

You know, this isn’t that much different with Calvin’s family. In both, he always gets to play the bratty boy.

There is a good reason Calvin doesn’t like Susie. It’s sort of like the line from the Untouchables “He pulls a knife, You pull a gun. He puts one of yours in the hospital. You put one of his in the morgue.”

Calvin almost always initiates the insult, but Susie comes back with a topper. At lest this time she didn’t deck him.

Calvin could someday be Suzie’s boss due to the RPRT factor (Right Place Right Time). I relocated a number of the men that were in our Signal Corps radio class (Ft. Monmouth – 1962). The man that topped the class had a BS in electronics and held two FCC licenses. Enlisted because no one would hire him with draft obligation and college did not have ROTC or he’d been an officer! The man that BOTTOMED the class made Sp-4 a year before the engineer! (And both enlisted same day) RPRT factor, yet we were constantly hearing "WE WANT THAT EXTRA EFFORT! In reality, it all came down to where the allocations were falling!

I really love the times (some expert tell me how many) Watterson had Susie & Calvin playing house and he let out his artistic talent to its fullest extent. First time I saw one, I thought the newspaper had made a mistake and substituted a different strip for C&H, until the last panel. At this point, Watterson could probably charge a million dollars for a new, single Sunday-style C&H strip in large size and framed, and get it. Or sell prints at $10K a pop.

Hmmm. Hobbes, being a tiger, must be good in bed. Why else would you marry him? And Calvin, being mixed species, would have to be retarded…
