I am so old that I remember that people did not kill in mass murders or people they had no relationship to.
Either some one was being robbed, or angered someone, but to go out and kill a bunch of people that mean nothing to you? That never happened when I was young….
When I was in college in the 50’s, I thought nothing of driving home clear across town in an open convertible. Now I would not drive anywhere in New Orleans even with a bunch of marines surrounding me. The city is a war zone that I left permanently 20 years ago.
It happened all the time, back to the stone age. Thing is, there really was no good way to make it a Media Headline and broadcast it everywhere within minutes.
Mass shootings are good for TV news ratings, so they make the headlines. If you want to stop gun violence work on where most gun violence occurs. Two-thirds of gun violence are suicides. One-third are “ordinary” homicides. A tiny fraction of a percent are police activity and less than that are mass shootings: they don’t make it off the X-axis on the charts.
Not to minimize the gravity of mass shootings, but they are very much ado about a tiny part of the problem.

Nothing is unimaginable if you have a good imagination.

No shootings at mass. Only Sunday school bombings.
