To those who call marriage “just a piece of paper”, I found that I DID feel completely different after the vows. My husband and I had a routine that we followed while we were dating, which included saying goodnight and going to our respective homes. We did this for 3 years. Since our wedding was small and quickly put together, we didn’t have our own place yet, and we didn’t have a honeymoon past one night at a hotel. The first night after that I was all set to temporarily follow our old routine, but when the time came to go our different ways, I broke down and cried. It felt like losing an arm or something. He felt the same way. It WAS different.
Phil has always been a good guy. Just because he has some foibles and is a bit quirky at times…. does not negate his good heart and intentions. I have always viewed him as one of the most realistic and likable characters in this comic.
My story after 35 years my own hubby been wonderful with my dying mom living with us.Before then I could not state that when I met my soon to be husband his mom told in from of me to date someone else my mom tried to talk me out of dating this man interested in me. After we married honeymoon wonderful we had each other to ourselves. Then back to real life I became close to a widow (husband very much alive) would go spend after work one hour with me then several hours with his mom that lasted over a year.couple of years later he was with me more. Now my mom who is near death from cancer and I am not driving to her house.
Soon enough we will hear this from the following:Elly: Welcome to domestic life.Elizabeth: Will I get any cousins?Jim, Marian & Georgia’s parents{in unison}: We want grandchildren!
