The city powers that be lied about the gold cane? Say it isn’t so! We all know how honest and truthful government is! LOL

For a guy who is in his 90s he should be using a walker.

It should have been obvious to Walt, the Pye brothers and Skeezix that it was paint. Real gold and gold painted wood have a very different feel.

If the city awarded Walt a gold cane, his grandkids should have known about it!

I got a bronze Ford car, do you mean it isn’t really not made out of bronze?

My baseless conclusion is really based on the ‘gold painted’ cane was confused with a cane they thought was made from real gold.

Sarcasm isn’t lost on you is it?

I still see a “swap-er-roo” coming. Perhaps the Pye Brothers come rushing down the street, bump into our dynamic duo, canes go flying, the Pyes grab the el cheapo cane and head into the pawn shop…etc etc…

A chunk of gold the size of that cane handle would be very heavy. It would be easy to tell the difference unless the painted handle were brass or some other similar metal. Wonder where the city got it? Might be the Cain Cane Co in Ducaine, IL
