In this case, “foxy” means sly, not sexy like it meant in the 1970s…

Save moneys yourself and give to that charity. Although his grandma would probably find another way to trick him.

And then in the 90s, a certain type of person began telling us, “Instead of a materialistic gift, I’ve made a Christmas/birthday donation in your name to (their favourite charity, not necessarily one you agree with)”.

Good luck Linus! You can save lives, or you can save your childhood.

Charlie Brown has recovered nicely from his angst about the Little Red Haired Girl moving away…

Easy, tie the blanket around your neck and tell grandma that it is not a blanket but a cape and you are a super hero. Then tell her she owes you $10 as you are your favorite charity. The Linus League.

Poor Linus. I do feel for him.

We are all reluctant to give up our favourite things.

If Linus’s parents don’t object to the blanket, grandma needs to stop sticking her nose in what isn’t her business. She alreay raised her own kids, it’s not her job to raise the grandkids.

I agree with Ayn Rand. I don’t believe in self-sacrifice. Sorry ’bout that, you bleeding hearts.

More likely it would end up lining the pocket of some charity’s founder. Lots of “overhead” to most charities.
