Why is there an apostrophe ess (’s) after “Hemelshot”? Is Mr. Van Amerongen so poorly educated as to think that one pluralizes a surname with an apostrophe ess?

Cavan…. My goodness.Are you so poorly brought up as to think it’s acceptable to insult a cartoonist, by impugning his academic standing over a tiny typo?I suppose you never make any?Yes, there are cartoonists (and doctors, pianists, and nuclear physicists) who can’t spell well, or who make grammar mistakes; not every talented person in the world has conquered every unrelated skill.And there are probably even cartoonists who never went to school past the 10th grade.It doesn’t matter… I’ll read their work anyway, and happily, if it makes me laugh.

Mr. Van Amerongen, however, is a skillful writer; I never thought to question his educational credentials. Perhaps the pressure of daily deadlines occasionally causes a proofreading lapse…What sort of pressure caused your lapse?

Take it from a former professional classical trumpet player: that Barney has a picture-perfect embouchure.
