Frazz by Jef Mallett for July 28, 2016
Transcript:
Caulfield: How do you never get in a bad mood? Frazz: Oh, I do. It's just relative. My worst moods look like Mrs. Olsen's good moods. Mrs. Olsen: I heard that, Frazz, and I'll thank you not to use me as an unflattering example! Caulfield: That oddly cheered me up. Frazz: Best way to avoid a bad mood is to avoid comparing yourself to anyone.

Actually, every time I’m feeling sorry for myself, I meet someone is worse off.

My wife’s hearing is getting more and more sensitive as she gets older. A real pain in the ass, since mine’s going the other way.

A good scratch behind the ears always improves my dogs mood.

Ouch. Frazz, that WAS awfully mean spirited IMO. The bad mood you are now in because of the shame and embarrassment at being caught saying something mean is unfortunately deserved. I feel sorry now that Mrs. Olsen now feels hurt too. Even though he has never been featured, it would be very interesting for Jef to show us Mr. Olsen! Perhaps Jef should consider branching out a bit and showing a few comics with Mr. & Mrs. Olsen at home?

Definitely mean and inappropriate for Frazz. Let’s see how this gets resolved between the two of them in tomorrow’s strip.

Possibly Mrs. Olsen is a widow and therefore there is no Mr. Olsen?

If you don’t want to be an unflattering example, then don’t actually be an unflattering example.
