It’s been awhile, so I’m trying to remember, but I think she is suspicious of anyone who drives up. But yeah, Grandma’s different. Throw in her dog, Big Shirley, and you’ve got a visit more frightening than a fish slapping bear and a pangolin put together.

Doctor Toon… Yeah, I’m the nutty one in our family, too! And as you get older it gets better. You can do all kinds of crazy stuff and get away with it. Everybody sez, “That’s Dad, you know him!”

Alice isn’t going to be re-assured until she sees Grandma and Big Shirley at the same time.

I thought after the last big holiday visit that Alice and Big Shirley had made peace with each other - even though Alice threw Polyfil at Big Shirley in an abortive effort to escape.

I am not always sure what is going on in cul de sac, but I always feel better after I read it. Like Proust.

Proust feels better after reading cul de sac?

I don’t know that it’s ever been explained why Grandma throws eggs at cars, but it was one of the first things we learned about her. Alice reported that she USED to be one of those people who WAVES at all the passing cars, but she changed…

“Proust feels better after reading cul de sac?”
There’s an “eating madelines” joke there that I’m not touching…

No doubt Alice will tell Grandma about everything that has happend since she last saw her.
I wonder if Grandma will be suprised that Petey has some friends now.

Quick use your guardian pangolin as a distraction while you run to the house.

Is anyone else craving deviled eggs now? And I’m out of horseradish, too!
