Actually, females do “throw like girls” for a good reason: different shoulder structure and upper body musculature. Then you get to the hips and things really change. This does not mean they cannot throw, or swing a bat (or anything else) effectively, only that the technique is different. It is the same for every sport, which is why women generally compete against women, and men against men.
For that matter, there is a huge variation in technique among those of the same sex. If coaches and trainers realized this, they’d save a lot of pain and injury to those they are supposedly teaching.
But I digress. It is a put-down BECAUSE it is sexist.
