I’m guessing that anyone with a cat has had this happen. Or had an entire document disappear

The mittenpaws (what we used to call polydactyl cats) are starting to figure out computers in their next step to take over the world.

There was once a small application on the Mac side called “Cat-like-typing,” or some such. It was originally developed to prevent disasters when a small child or cat came across an unattended keyboard. You could set it for a certain number of random characters, and when detected, it popped up a dialog that said “Cat-like typing detected,” and locked further input from the keyboard. You had to click an icon and type a password to unlock the keyboard. Wish they had something like it today.

…my late great cat twice peed on my ex-husbands keyboard – that cat had better instincts than I did :)….

Fortunately Jingle Belle Katt hasn’t tried to walk across the keyboard or play with the mouse. She just tries to steal pens from the holder, lie on the papers I’m working from, or sharpen her claws on the cork bulletin board. All in all, a low-tech cat…

My cat has taught me more about my tablet than anyone else has been able to. She swipes and steps and it does all these neat things I didn’t know it could do, so I’ve been having her tutor me on my tablet.

Hmm, my cats don’t have any problem with the keyboard, but I also have a sliding keyboard shelf too. Not in use, can’t walk on it if it’s tucked in.

One of my cats actually caused my screen to rotate 180 deg. It was quite interesting in going on line to get the fix.

KateMul – one of mine did that too. The local computer shop was still open so I called them. It caused them a bit of puzzlement before they figured it out !
