What was Susie even thinking in the first panel?

    Hasnā€™t she learned anything?

My grand daughters school ( junior kindergarten ) has a strict no trading policy. Itā€™s probably so kids donā€™t trade away the nutritious parts of their lunch, or maybe itā€™s about allergies.

Egg salad?!? It might as well be processed mouse loaf. That stuff is nauseating.

From Star Trek: ā€œJim, madness has no purpose. Or reason. But it may have a goal.ā€ Calvinā€™s goal was COOKIES!

Mouse breeding has improved sooo much in recent years. I think theyā€™ve actually found ways to tenderize the whiskers.

You should have seen the spider that caught the mouse first.

I like egg salad, and I liked the school hot lunches way back when; especially on Fridays when we got fish sticks and parsley buttered potatoes. A lot of kids hated fish sticks and I would often get their unwanted servings!

    Ā

It might be why Iā€™m not particularly fond of fish sticks todayā€¦

Processed mouse would be allowed in school today. Peanut butter is banned.

Back during the war, weā€™d be sent to school with PB&J sandwiches and the other more well-off kids would be eager to ā€˜tradeā€™ for such, and sis and I would wind up the better with Egg and/or Tuna Fish sammiches. Never could escape Wonder Bread and its ability to be rolled into a ā€˜starch marble,ā€™ though..How did I ever last this long???
