Heintjes: Are you religious?Johnston: I don’t like organized religion where people tell me I have to follow a certain dogma. I don’t like other people interpreting Scriptures for me. I like to interpret them for myself. Not that I feel that I’m the only one who can, but I just feel…let’s put it another way. Only a couple of times have I ever been to church and felt enlightened by it.

Funny how when government waste is mention, its defenders trot out cops and firefighters as if to say the non-essentials are equally important, like an under-assistant locker room attendant in Cleveland matters as much as LeBron James.

God should quit wasting time counting peoples hair follicles and start working on ways to bring peace and understanding to this world. He sure seems to be punishing a lot of people lately.

Doesn’t anyone remember that this strip was done in Canada?Their Govt is in fact very different from US. They are Americans, but have a direct democracy rather than a Republic like we have.

Not just preachers, there have been civil rights groups that prattle on about “racists under the bed” in order to drum up donations.

Obviously you have never been to Canada, nor read any accurate thing about it. It is no more a direct (Athenian) democracy than the US is. Too big. Granted, it is not a republic, but a constitutional (limited) monarchy. This means that head of state (Elizabeth II) and and head of government (Justin Trudeau) are separate people and no one can wrap themselves in the flag like Nixon did. On the other hand, many republics have this protection too, instead of a monarch and prime minister, they have a president (ceremonial head of state) and a prime minister, chancellor, etc. head of government.

The colors are never as bright further south in Houston. We get the color changes.
