Hmmm… me too, I guess.I mean, I could say I’m not actually afraid of the height of that tree.cos as long as I’m on the ground, a tree can be as tall as it wants to be….and it doesn’t scare me.But if I were sitting in the tree, I’d be quite terrified of the length of the drop to the ground.
There is a simple and effective solution – for every time she makes you go with her to a yarn or a fabric store; she must accompany you to a hardware or auto parts store. Trust me, it works!
@Granny Grump: absolutely. . .and, not only do you have tl matchthe color, oftentimes you have to match/contrast the texture. . .and if the texture is different, then you need to refigure the amount you need. . .then you see another color and another pattern. . .the guys certainly like it, though, when they get a gorgeous sweater or cuddle blanket. . .
Tim is not an objective reality, time is totally subjective. The only way we can make time objective is to wear or carry a watch.I threw my watch in a drawer in 1998 the day I retired, never carried or wore one since(I refuse to own a cell phone. If someone wants to get hold of me, they will leave a message)
I wouldn’t dream of taking my DH to a yarn or quilt shop with me. I much prefer to shop alone and he likes it that way, too. Anyway, I don’t want him to see how much I spend, lolol.
Not afraid of heights. EDGES are another story. I can be in a 100 story high building and look out and down no problem. But I always keep about three feet back from the edge of things like the Grand Canyon.
I think it was Einstein who said, "Time is relative, if I spend 3 1/2 hours with a beautiful interesting woman it feels like fifteen minute, if I spend fifteen minutes with a bore it feels like 3 1/2 hours.
I had an interesting time in a fabric shop in Vancouver. I asked to see ecru thread. Size? About this size, pulling out a micrometer. Ecru thread, waxed to keep fuzz down and moisture out, is the standard for ship model running rigging. I was repairing one at the Maritime Museum and needed a match.

I think you are stalking us. My husband won’t even go into the store with me. He just stays out in the car, we live in the Houston area. He really hates going in.

A woman who knits in the yarn shop for only 15 minutes – maybe not impossible, but unlikely.

It’s called the yarn shop because a lot of yarn spinning goes on there.

To Opal, 3 & a half hours in a yarn shop only seems like 15 minutes.

It takes 15 minutes or more to find the color you need and then settle on something close cos you can never find the color you need!

Earl could get back at Opal by making her go with him to the hardware store. I loathe those places like my husband would a yarn shop.

I love to watch the older guys who go with their wives to JoAnn’s. . .most of them sit in the chairs at the front and watch the women go by. . .
