I lost something ….that day started out with his face still half-green and suddenly yesterday it was no longer green. It still is supposed to be the same day, no? I thought it was an oversight, but again to day the strip still shows Michael green-free…and it’s a continuation of that same day. I thought there would be some teasing of his green face strips….or did I miss something?

Geography courses are an endangered species in the United States (not sure about Canada), and this guy is a good reason why. He needs to be brought to the carpet as to how come he spends more time berating students than seeing they have an improved understanding of Earth.

Just because the strip showed Michael in school on two consecutive days doesn’t mean it is the same day for him. This might be taking place even a few weeks later.

I think the idea of the flu-shot is to give your body the feeling that you actually have it, so that the body has time to build antibodies before the epidemic hits. A few days feeling a bit ‘off’ is better than being really ill for weeks.

To those who posted about how they got flu shots but got sick anyway…I think you folks are the exceptions, rather than the rule (no offense meant).

Anecdotal evidence is very persuasive for some people when it comes to flu shots and other vaccinations.I think I’ll stick with science thank you very much.o

Actually, the flu vaccine will not give you the flu or make you sick. The vaccine takes 2 weeks to work, so if you have already caught something you will possibly still get sick those 2 weeks.

Before flu shots, I got the flu every year and always in time for the Christmas break. So glad for flu shots nowadays.

My whole family had the same third grade teacher, Mrs Mollino was a no nonsense by the books teacher and everyone in the family was terrified of her. One day my brother got sick during school and he was to scared to say anything to Mrs. Mollino, but she realized something was wrong when he got sick all over his desk.

It takes up to 6 weeks for the full protection from getting a flu shot to develop. So get it early (mid September at the latest) Yes, if you put it off; you have a much greater chance of getting the flu and passing it around!

I haven’t checked recently, but back in the ‘70s, they knew geography and even had geology in high school. Ironically, that is banned, along with civics, in Texas. Studying petroleum might get by, but historical geology gets into evolution and that must be prohibited even at the cost to the “awl bidness” (to quote Molly Ivins).

Another corporate lie. It doesn’t matter how good a union you have, if the boss wants to get rid of you, they will. The only question is how solid the union and how much the company is willing to pay.
