That tank is getting closer to the action. Maybe it is human . Maybe it wants to be “WELD” informed. (…sorry about that)

The acetylene tank is there because, like all the GA bachelors, it carries a torch for Miss Chris.

Notice how Harold is wearing the same purple outfit Rover had on before it mysteriously changed to brown sometime during the day? I mean really, people. Who’s kidding who here?

I’m sure glad I return daily for this positive slice of life with universal themes and commonplace situations, I must say.

I move we have Jim scrap the story line and just go for the illustrations. I like that first panel.

Maybe he’ll keep driving around until he gets to the graveyard on Halloween and find Rufus in a grave like Gertie did last year.

When ‘have’ we seen Gertie and Byrd lately?..

He saw a picture of Rover kissing the bus driver, and isn’t falling for the first wacky excuse offered to convince him not to believe it?

So far, Harold is the Stephen Hawking of Gasoline Alley - a man with common sense, at last!

There’s Something About Miss Chris, isn’t there?

I’ll be home for Miss Chris.

Rover, a quick suggestion: The weather is moderate, and while it’s a tad expensive (gasoline being what it is) you could do worse than bunking in the truck tonight, running the engine off and on to keep a bit of heat up. In the cold of Winter this doesn’t work, an idling pickup truck engine just won’t keep heat up when it’s much below freezing (I know this from experience). Tomorrow is a new day, time enough then to figure out what’s next.
