I am literally shaking my head in despair at the horror wrought today. As Gweedo suggests, I do indeed need something stronger in the bowl of my briar this morning to cope. Never having had the opportunity to sample the leaf now famous in Gweedo’s state, I cannot attest as to if it would be the right choice for me at the moment or not, although from what I have read, it could very well be a grand choice for me.
.
However, I will as of this writing this morning, I will make due with a heavy, molasses tinctured burley & latakia blend that I have that is reserved for especially troubling times, like these.
.
I am so very shocked at how harsh, and how uncaring Rufus has become. The greedy, green dollar signs in his eyes are so vivid that they nearly make his eyes glow. A few weeks ago, I would have never guessed that Rufus had this in him. He seemed so vastly different from his siblings that I thought that even though he ended up a little short in the neuronal pool, he made up for it in heart and in kindness. I see now that it was only an illusion. He is truly showing his "kin"dred similarities to his brother here, and it saddens me.
.
Poor, poor Joel. His final statement as he goes out the door… well, it is not his finest moment… but we must keep in mind how what has transpired has hit him to his very core. It must be akin to a sucker punch to the gut emotionally for Joel at the moment. I think we can all understand how Joel is in pain, and can overlook his replying back to Rufus in a less than kind fashion.
.
Yet, perhaps there is a glimmer of hope. Perhaps Joel’s statement is a form of using “reverse psychology” of a sort to try to get Rufus to come to his senses? I could easily see our wise hero employing such a tactic if he feels convinced it may help bring the world they share back to normalcy. This could very well be Joel’s goal.

In the last 19 years, it was never clearly defined who owns he cart and who owns the mule. That might come out.

Finally, I am glad to see Joel has found his pipe again. He will surely need its comfort now more than ever with this shocking display by Rufus.
