Yeah, right, my LED bulbs are going quicker than the CFLs.

My first LED bulb ($22) failed after 19 months. Its replacement is still going after two years. Still, $44 is kinda steep for three and one half years worth of bulbs. I kept the back panel from the box, and will make a warranty claim if it fails in the next couple of years.

I’ve never had them last anywhere near what it says on the box. Went back to regular bulbs. And those CFL bulbs? I don’t want anything that needs a haz-mat team to clean up in our house.

Don’t buy Polaroid LED bulbs. They have a “Lifetime Replacement Warranty,” but if you file a claim, all you get is a run-around. It’s been over 8 months and still no replacement.

The lighting from the LED’s are horrible , especially if you have cataracts. I prefer the TAE bulbs. They give off the best light.

I tried some LED bulbs in my van. The first one failed in 11 months. I put the old incandescent bulb back in and it’s still working – has 12 years on it.

I bought up a stash of old style bulbs while I could still get them. I’m good for life.

I sell LEDs, the ROI on most is many years, wait for a sale. Also they will begin to fade after about 5 – 6 years. They are not as environmentally friendly as most think as they use some fairly exotic compounds. Only a tiny bit in each bulb, but multiplies by millions. . . .

Which is why we need to recycle everything we use instead of our present throw away culture. LEDs use very little energy to function.

I tried an LED in my ceiling fan fixture. It blew out before any of the incandescent ones (that had not been replaced) in the other three sockets on the same fixture.

LED lights can give migraines to some people. I’m one of them. It’s the reason I can’t drive at night. Good old incandescent light bulbs don’t sear into my eyes and cause horrible pain.

Average the life span based upon real life use. Some are short, some are long. Average is somewhere in between.

My 15 year old goldfish my daughter stuck me with could live to be 30. I do not have that many years left. Anyone out there want me to put the fish in the will for them?

I’ll bet they get really jolted when they stick a thumb into a lamp socket to see what size base it takes!

I actually had a customer do this once and ended up on his back, covered with broken glass, under the light fixture display in one of our stores…

I haven’t had one of those bulbs last more than 2 years so far. If only we had some consumer protection.
