We’d do something like that when I was in high school. Instead of “Push them back, push them back, waaaayy back” or “They’ve got the ball, so take it away”, we’d combine the cheer into something like “Repel them, repel them, make them relinquish the ball.” We thought it was funny, anyway.

“Surrender”? Not “Capitulate, yield, quit the field, grovel, abnegate”? I’m disappointed.

I always wonder if a thesaurus is one of the textbooks used in learning the medical profession…
