C’mon Pab. Say it. You know you want to (it’s such a guilty pleasure). And it practically rolls off the lips. No? Then just listen to the soothing sound of:
Palin/Beck 2012!
(if that prospct is too frightening at this point in time you may want to begin with some conditioning drills. You could start by saying “Speaker Boehner” over and over until January 3, 2011)
There is an interesting connection of the book to a number of television shows and other media. One of the best known programs has recently been relaunched.
I wish the Republicans would admit that their extreme is fascist & the Democrats that theirs is communist. Then both could get back to the middle where most people live.

Ten simple Agree/Maybe/Disagree questions. You may or may not agree with the results, but you will see an interesting 2D alternative to the traditional one dimensional Left/Middle/Right landscape.
I’d be willing to bet Beck never actually strung words into a coherent sentence. If there’s a book with his name on it, he paid somebody to type it.
Here’s the deal. Republicans are loony hyper about the deficit they created by running a couple of invasions off the books. Answer to their perceived problem is to extend tax cuts for rich people ad infinitum at a conservatively estimated $700billion.
Tada, it trickles down. Question is, if Americans buy this idiocy, how are they qualified to govern themselves? No rich person given the opportunity to buy a more expensive tux ever created a job for anybody.
There are so many things that are odious about this ordure. Founding Fathers? These idiots believe the part about “well’regulated militia” was a typo when they go all originalist.
The founding fathers were brilliant and contentious. Teabaggers talking about the Constitutional debates is actually sad, because the alleged grassroots have no clue and big money aholes like Dick Armey are just using these fools.
None of this has to do with the Constitution. Anybody that claims so is a disgraceful liar. There are a million points on which to poiint out how these people are liars. Claiming the current President is somehow illegitimate when Scalia just appointed monkey-boyy, with Halliburton as the self-appointed VP, well thaat is ridiculous.
Tell me I’m wrong. They raped the commonweal and do not care merde.
You’re right about Beck. He doesn’t write his own books. He hires people for that. He’s not a very good judge of writing, so his books tend to be pretty poorly written. I found that out when “The Christmas Sweater” came out. The person who really did most of the writing for that had written a similar book called “The Christmas Jars” which got very poor reviews.
If Beck and Palin have one thing in common, it’s this: both have ambitions far exceeding their mental abilities.
Also, one thing about the current crop of repubs: like all totalitarian types, they are always accusing their opposition of “crimes” they regularly commit themselves.
We just celebrated banned games day at my house. Sept 18. Lawn darts(Jarts), throwing knives, and booze. Ending in talk like a pirate day complete with eye patches.
A few people brought instruments for band games though.

Interesting. I scored as a left-leaning libertarian, which is just about how I would have described myself.
I remember my mother telling me we were going to move to Switzerland if Barry Goldwater was elected. D.amn, I wish she had. As much as I love this country, the Swiss have a lot going for them.
The National Socialists (Nazis) were left wing, just so you know. Gun control, national health care and all that. They were nationalist instead of internationalist, that’s the main difference. The two didn’t get along.
Technojunkie, you have no idea what you are talking about. I have my masters in German culture plus did a year-long fellowship studying Germany in WWII. National Socialists were anything but left wing. They hated the Communists and sent them to concentration camps. They did nothing to the health care system which was created under Kaiser Wilhelm long before Hitler. It is, by the way, the same system they have had for ~125 years, making it the oldest and most successful and sustainable health care system in the world.
Nazis were corporatist more than anything - funded by huge corporations which kept private control. They were big on controlling private freedoms of all sorts (sort of like Republicans) and giving free rein to industry (sort of like….) That’s why Henry Ford was such a huge fan of Hitler (he wrote several tracts for the Nazi Party).
As to gun control - they controlled who had guns but they made sure there were lots and lots of guns out on the streets. When you don’t know who’s armed (and itching for a fight), it tends to make you very afraid.
I never cared for Palin and living in AZ, know McCain is a fraud, but I AM conservative, there’s just no one out there for me (even JD Hayworth got shot down :-(

Vote, but vote carefully. At the risk of invoking Godwin’s Law, I must remind everyone that Hitler was legally elected.

It was Rush Limbaugh who first backed Palin, not Beck. Limbaugh was an old hand at inciting fear long before Beck came on the scene.

Too late…the state has gotten so huge and so powerful…with many of the trappings of Fascism….that all presidents now appear to be dictators.
