And poor Joan Groan – I mean poor Annie is in that drafty warehouse with no glass in the windows. I hope it isn’t as cold there as it is here – our wind chill right now is 19 degrees BELOW zero. I have glass in all my windows, but can still feel a draft coming in. This house was built in the late 1880’s and still has most of its original windows. At least I have a furnace to keep me warm.
We are expecting a huge storm in the Sierra, but the wind coming from the northwest is warm for December – the temps went up overnight from 42 at 9pm to 63 when I got up at 5am! Forecast is for quite a bit of desperately needed rain and snow.
Dean thought Christmas had come early for him yesterday then I ruined it for him. I was refilling my bird feeders when I startled a little Junco at the back deck and in its panic it kept trying to fly out where the bird netting is (I use it to keep the boys on the deck). So I went in to try and help it off the deck with Dean in hot pursuit – it’s near impossible to catch him from running onto the deck – clearly happy at the chance of catching a birdie. Fortunately I managed to direct it down to the lower railings where it can go through the lattice without furry interference. He sat staring through the lattice with the most wistful look I’ve ever seen on a cat’s face for ages afterwards. I’m sure he was thinking “so close …”
I just got new windows for my house in Boston a couple of months ago, and with the cold spell going on now I’m glad I did. The house was built in 1846, so it’s 170 years old this year! My folks moved in in 1952 and bought it in 1956.
THAT’S IT….I’m taking some delicious chicken soup and an electric blanket to the warehouse for Annie. I am assuming that dump has electricity. Chesney, you are a danger to humanity let alone to Joan Groan.

daleandkristen: I just read the posts from late yesterday and tried to get to the link for the pics of Petri.
The FB message came up that I had to log in.
With bbears, I don’t hve to do that. Very odd.

Let’s hope when they do the re-attaching of heads, they get them on the right bodies.
We could have a Frankenstein moment.
