The Great Am overhears their conversation and interjects:
.
“Now, now, Spirit, immortals aren’t all that uncommon. Why in 1924, I first met a redheaded, curly haired girl who looked to be somewhere between 7 and 12. She’s still around 93 years later and doesn’t look like she’s aged a day.
.
“And in 1931, I first met a young plainclothes police detective, his girlfriend, and his partner. They’re all still with us, and the only one who’s visibly aged at all is the partner. And even he hasn’t aged anywhere near the 76 years that have elapsed since then.”
It was William Christopher (Father Francis Mulcahy) who died on December 31, 2016, one year exactly after his friend Wayne Rogers passed away. Chirstopher was 84 years old. RIP.
There is the possibility that this present day Perenelle is a modern scam artist, although I suppose, in the context of these strips, it wouldn’t be easy to fool Mr. Am.
Zzzzzzzz…… It wouldn’t bother me a bit to get back to standard Tracy stuff. There are several years worth of materials related to “unfinished” story arcs, if Mike & Joe have run out of material.
One of my favorite Harvey re-print comics is the 3-D Magee and Pony story. Harvey used other artists besides Gould’s original work for their covers and splash panels. The cover of that particular issue had Tracy in a blue fedora and trench coat. Little did they know that one day, Tracy would meet up with the Spirit!
Two peas in a pod! One wears yellow, the other wears blue, but aside from color their attire is twin-ish. Each has an immortal issue. But one is squinty-eyed and chisel-chinned, the other has wide blue eyes and a more burly jaw…..

I was saying yesterday that Tracy already knew The Great Am was immortal but it’s nice to see that fact confirmed.

Let’s resolve this, Dick and Denny!

Leonard Starr probably use The Great Am at least once in “Annie” during his lengthy run on the strip.

Apparently Wayne Rogers did die at the end of 2015, no idea where I’d heard otherwise.
