Hobbes’s “Crushing grip of reason” line is one of my favorite lines of all time. Just so completely incongruous to the conversation that just happened.
I also notice that it’s just around this time that Hobbes looks more “normal”- a little sleeker and more streamlined that his prior version- he would look like this for the remainder of the strip.
You got one more game in the Georgia Dome. I respect that you’re rooting for the hometown team but I think Aaron Rodgers will be too much for the Falcons.

Does this strip answer the question of whether Hobbes actually become a living being when not only alone with but when by himself?
In the first two panels we see Hobbes as a living being without the presence of Calvin.
In the third panel we see Calvin get hit in the back of the head with Hobbes being the only likely suspect.
And in the final panel we see two sets of footprints.

The strip may indicate more about Calvin’s imagination than that Hobbes has become an actual entity.

That’s about the level of political debate that one sees on Facebook these days.

Hobbes looks so evil in that first panel. That’s the sort of face I have when I do something mischievous.

Off topic but I wonder how old Hobbes is in tiger years? (If there’s such a thing)
