Pollution was a big problem when this was first published. Cities were enveloped in smog, lead was everywhere and rivers were catching fire (Randy Newman had a great song about that last phenomenon called “Burn On”). Ironically, this was one area where then-president Nixon, despite some typically dismissive comments about environmentalists, had a pretty decent record. It was under him that the Environmental Protection Agency was established and we started to clean things up. Of course the current lot is trying to get rid of the EPA or at least make it completely toothless, because nothing will make America great again like going back to the days of smog, lead pollution and burning rivers.

If you’re Trump or a Texas congressman/senator, you don’t care at all. You sure don’t cry about it.

It’s easy Snoopy, just tweet your frustration to the world….and make some threats too….that helps too.

Why does the Head Beagle have to deal with anything other than beagle business?
