This was explained to me years ago. Religions dream about eternity, so their predictions are worthless in the here and now. Corporations focus on the quarterly report, so their predictions are worthless for most of your lifetime. Science, OTOH, looks at what works reliably all the time, so we should pay attention to it.
A lot of Wiley’s stuff looks familiar. I think he has a stock pile of props and scenery (and characters) that he copies and pastes into his toons. A really clever idea.
