Baby raccoons are cute. Adults? Not so much. Filthy animals. I’ve trapped and moved close to a dozen of them, and the mess they make is absolutely disgusting.
It might have been more poignant if Watterson had used a rabbit instead of a raccoon. My dog once mauled a baby rabbit. I called a vet, but he wouldn’t touch him. There was nothing I could do except put the poor little guy out of his misery. So sad.

My daughter had to take the day of school to mourn when her hamster died. ’Course she was 8, not much older than Calvin
