Iused to salt my food without tasting….I love salt. And my wife still seasons like that. So I just use less salt in preparation and let her fling the salt all about. I have found though, that I don’t miss the salt on my food. But I do know that food needs salt to bring out flavor. Vinegar will help as well.
From today’s Comics Curmudgeon: Now that you can’t smoke indoors anymore, pluggers have had to work harder and harder at committing suicide slowly.
I started in my 20’s using minimal salt, but lots of pepper. I am in that habit now though they have found that salt doesn’t effect your blood pressure.
Some things are better with a pinch of salt (exactly the amount you can pick up between your index finger and thumb. But, to add flavor, I use garlic, onion, celery, my favorite herbs (basil, rosemary, oregano, thyme) nad/or spices. (allspice, cloves, ginger, cardamon)

The Late and Unlamented used to salt food before he tasted it. I oversalted a meal and left him to it. It was a looong time before he tried it again.

Not with my husband. It’s a big ring of crumbs. Around the plate and around his chair.

I hate the taste of salt, if there’s enough that I can taste it, it’s way too much and I’m unhappy. Just a little black pepper too.
