F & Wildlife Documentary Filmmakers Frank: Ernie, you shouldn't have chosen "Bye Bye Birdie" as music for the documentary on avian extinctions. And using Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" in the film about disappearing polar bear habitats was also inappropriate! This is serious stuff! Our next project is about dwindling bee populations....without bees, all plant life is threatened, endangering humanity itself! Ernie: You're right, Frank. For the bee film we should use the song "Where Have all the Flowers Gone?! Frank: Now that's a nice choice, Ernie!

I’d use “Plight of the Bumble Bee.”

Save the bees! I plant an African Blue Basil plant every spring. It attracts lots of bees. Clover and dandelions are good for bees, also.

Curious, in all the films of disasters and post apocalyptic life, most have ever even mentioned that those events could have begun with the loss of essential systems, such as the bees and other species. The end of civilization – if we can continue to call it that – is usually pictured as the result of one or more catastrophes – sudden and overwhelming.
But as TS Eliot said: This is the way the world ends . . . Not with a bang but a whimper

Support local pollinator programs* and projects. Plant native plants rather than oriental imports or hybridized plants that have been bred for larger and better plants and flowers to the detriment of pollen. Natives support the local animal, bird, and insect populations.*One such program is the Garden Club of Kentucky-Friends of Pollinators June 2/3. go to gardenclubky.org for more information.
