Basically, Tracy hasnāt known Am for more than a few years and he hasnāt quite figured him out yet. Of course, Annie has known Am for much longer, but I donāt think sheās figured him out either.

My understanding is that Mr. Am was not in the hotel even before the holdup. If he was there, I expected him to make an appearance ā¦
That would make sense. Mr. Am was not in the hotel at all.
On the question of what is a āsuite,ā Iām sure there could be two suites on one floor. Itās just that the statement, āThe 30th floor is the Great Amās personal suiteā makes it sound like his suite is the whole floor.
Everything that I thought happened is being torn into piecesā¦ I will just keep quiet and wait for what happens on Sunday. http://www.yesemoticons.com/free-cool-d/4667-2/tiny-smileys-yesemoticons-007.gif
Are there any Tracy ā Or Annie ā Or Spirit ā characters who are notable for outsized hands other than āThe Moleā and ā¦ presumably ā¦ Mr. Am?
So, weāve been puzzling about where the figure of five bidders came from since there are only four bidders that are really obvious. I finally decided to ask Mike Curtis directly about that. He confirms what I had been thinking. The Spirit is the other bidder, bidding on behalf of that international health agency. It was the only thing that made sense to me, but Iām happy to have gotten confirmation. Iām relieved that Mike does know how to count to five, LOL.
I hate to be a pill, but I canāt wait for this storyline to be over. Iām not familiar with these guest characters, so the nostalgiaās wasted on me, and I donāt know anything about their backgrounds/motivations, so it fails as a mystery.
About Will Eisner, who ābroke ground with noir super-detective comic āThe Spiritā ā: www.washingtonpost.com/news/comic-riffs/wp/2017/03/17/will-eisner-at-100-a-salute-to-the-legendary-comic-creator-who-transformed-the-industry/
Does Am āborder on deityā? You bet he does! āI am Who amā is what the deity calls himself in the Old Testament (Exodus 3.14). The Great Am, with his gigantic size and mystical/supernatural powers, is not explicitly identified as divine in Harold Grayās Little Orphan Annie, but the implication is always there, not far beneath the surfaceā¦.
Meanwhileā¦, that darn elevator sure is slow! Up, up, and away!
Yaā know, maybe Am did it after all! Possibly, he figured Flammel and her stooge were going to stiff him on the billā¦ā¦. even if she flew into Dodge on a Gulfstream. Maybe he ran her credit card and found it was a Banco de Mexico debit card with $2.50 left on it.

This story and the agonizing amount of wasted time taken to spin it is not unlike stretching out the Haunted House arc a few more months.

Why is Tracy calling Annie āOrphan Annieā? Does Mike think that some of the readers wonāt know who Oliver Warbucksā daughter Annie is?

For Am only the really serious cosmic horrors are for him to solve. Humans are so weak and primitive. He can out think them easily.

If Tracy recovered the letter Perenelle was reading on the day she died, that could have help them solve the crime.

Spirit: Is there something about [Am] I should know?
Tracy: Iām sure there is. *thinks: But I have no idea what."
