Never get to smell it in my neighborhood….folks start burning yard waste (and anything else they can get to light) on the first day windows can be opened and don’t stop til the snows come back.

Always a pungent smell in our AZ Sonoran Desert area, sort of like …well barn pungent.

One of the best smells EVER! And I have known the word for, at least, 30 years.

I love the smell of petrichor, especially in the desert. Why did he have to describe it as plant feces?
