Great….identity politics have come to Endtown. Now one’s going to be judged by what animal species they belong to than being judged as individuals who just happen to belong to a certain animal species. Paging Comrade Napoleon, paging Comrade Napoleon.

Jacob ran on that platform……become who you are now. Embrace your animal. Poor Cooper. So much for her business.

Again we get the suggestion that there has been anti-wolf discrimination. Imagined or real?

At this point we just don’t know, but being a predator species and the government run by a prey species, whenever a wolf did what comes naturally, the Government crackdown could have been unnecessarily harsh. The whole thing could be a metaphor for the whole world of fear and hate that the world, and maybe specially the USA has been plunged into, by the powers that be.

How many factions could this potentially split into? Ducks V/S platypusies, mice v/s groundhogs? maybe giraffes v/s snakes? Rhinos and elephants ganging up on everyone else?

@ Pam Miner: I like the comment about snakes! In fact, “Don’t Tread On Me” is usually associated with a yellow flag and a coiled up snake!

So, I’m guessing that Hoss’s laundry business is all washed up?

Actually, the simple truth could be that one group of wolves has been preying on everyone else, and the rest of the wolves resent being profiled because of it. The real villains ARE wolves, but not all wolves are bad. Yet. Soon, but not yet.

Love the size of the policeman “guarding” her!

General pot shot (it’s legal here) (with apologies to Gweedo Murray from Dick Tracy): Dick Tracy has been averaging over 100 comments a DAY while Endtown is generating twenty or less, with its posts separated by two and three days. Granted, this is a rather unique comic strip that probably doesn’t appeal to a wide range of readers. But Dick Tracy getting over 100 a day – with a rather weak story at this particular point! Using the number of comments as a gauge of readership, is Endtown in trouble?

Hoss did physically assault a wolf who wasn’t a threat, just talking trash. She may not want to admit it, but she and other Endtowners may not think of each other as people any more, and more as animals who are less than human. Mascots can tell you that people often forget that there’s a person inside the costume, and they get physically and verbally abused on a regular basis. In Endtown, everyone looks like a mascot.

Hmm. Coyoty, you bring up TWO points. Hoss may have perceived a threat, particularly to a customer. Another poison point is that, today, while sticks and stones may break a bone, words can do it all alone! Tweets alone seem to get people to the streets. And, while we are being forced to wait until almost Tuesday for the next installment, assuming Neathery doesn’t cut away to Walt and Portia again, a really big question is now: How does Hoss get through the pickets to open her business? Will she have to fight off a gauntlet of angry wolves to get inside? Words or worse? What will her customers do? Will they see – or perceive – the threat and go away? Or join the fight?

I’m not sure which is worse. The picketing wolves or the redneck picketing wolves…

Notice that the police escort is a goat. I’ve raised goats and have seen them defend themselves well against my two large dogs. The point is that the goat is also an herbivore. This may lead to further splintering of Endtown between the herbivore and carnivore anthro’s. This leaves a third group, the omnivores, of which Walt is a member. We already how he stands concerning one group (although Portia is technically also an omnivore). The question is how do the rest of the omnivore anthros stand?
