This is what I was talking about in an earlier comment. Humans make these changes without asking permission! (They wouldn’t get it if they did ask, but it would at least be polite.)
The boys will soon realise that strange creature is a human kitten. Large, hairless, depressingly slow witted, and astonishingly ugly (what else do you expect from humans?) but still a kitten, and to be treated as such.
Love the varied reactions. Puck sympathetic to the strange critter being forced to wear a hat. Lupin simply interested in hats and then there’s poor Elvis. He’s the only one who seems to grasp that life has just changed forever and he looks terrified!
Here is a very touching comment from Georgia’s Facebook a few days ago. Her beloved grandmother passed on last year and today would have been her birthday. Here is her comment “And I’m very happy that this time around, the Baby will happen to debut on my late Nana’s birthday! The day he first will be seen in newspapers is also the first time her birthday has rolled around since she passed. When I was dating all of the strips, and realized it hit that day, it felt very much like a wink, so to speak. I think she would have loved that so much. She loved comics and she loved her great grandson very much!”
From the days of The Quote Book =, to The Swan Eaters, the original Breaking Cat News and now the new format!! STILL the best part of my day is reading Breaking Cat News!!
Elvis, like most cats I’ve known, doesn’t care much at all for change of any kind. A Cat of Adventure will be unfazed, and a Puck will keep an eye out but not get out of sorts for such things.

And tiny hats push some “folks” ears down.

I love Lupin’s unimpressed expression in the last panel—spot on! Some cats look really great in tiny hats, especially cats of adventure. :D

Ah Elvis; cautious, leery, a bit afraid. A new cat invasion of what formerly was his very OWN space? Someone dangerous? what? What? WHAT?

Home already? Wow, when my siblings and I were born, back in the late 50s-early 60s, women got about a week in hospital to recover from the birth.

Ears up, boy. Nothing to be afraid of yet from that one.
At least not until he figures out how to use those hands.

Nice to see the Man, Woman, and Baby, with Elvis peering suspiciously over the back of the couch.

The cat in the hat would know about that.

Elvis doesn’t like the idea that the strange creature is in HIS place in the Woman’s lap!

Does Lupin actually like tiny hats? (IRL) What do you all think?
