When I lived in Lewis County, Washington, my hay fever was out of control. Now that I live in Clark County, Washington, it doesn’t bother me at all. (Calvin once said after a heavy sneeze and using a handkerchief he is leaking brain lubricant.)

The only thing to which I am allergic is poison ivy. Hubby is not, and he has to undress on the porch and put his clothes in a plastic bag, then wash them himself.

Yes, I have allergies. They were really terible, but after 35 years of treatment, I am finally able to control those allergies with just an OTC antihistamine.

It’s a skin allergy, to the kind of alcohol they put in liquid soaps — it dries up my skin something fierce that it becomes chapped and cuts develop. (Bar soap does not harm me.) Do you wax dramatic?

Thankfully, I have no allergies. I can’t even remember the last time I had a cold. Tissue manufacturers aren’t getting rich from me.

I don’t wax dramatically or poetically. I do use a razor here and there occasionally.

We had a very warm February so it has been an extremely long allergy season. Hooray for Claritin (generic form).
