Surely Georgia didn’t think Elvis was so dim-witted that he would think Tommy had gone just because the blind was closed.

Someone, in the last few days, asked, “Who is Tommy?”—Well, that’s Tommy, and he’s a Very Good Boy who deserves Good Things. (avoiding spoilers)

An intruder cat is never outside just one window. It’s outside a den window where you have to stick your head between the slats of the blinds so you bend and eventually break them. (They’re not really supposed to be there anyway.)

Then it’s outside the kitchen window, so you have to dash into the kitchen and jump on the Forbidden Counter.

Then if it’s warm enough that it’s just the screen door between you and the outside, you have to dash over to the back door so you can yowl and beat the screen door with your paw so it makes a really loud BANG! BANG! BANG!

Then it may be necessary to repeat the circuit.

So no, a shade over one window really isn’t going to help.

I used to have a cat that would go crazy if there was a cat outside. I would close the blinds so he couldn’t see the cat, but like Elvis he was too smart for that.
