You scoff, Calvin, but the Parent’s Curse always comes true. My late mother got it with one of my brothers, my aunts both got it with their kids, and my brothers both got it with THEIR kids!
When I reread this strip in adulthood, I remembered Bill Cosby saying that parents always cast the same curse on their kids: “I hope that someday you have children who behave exactly as you do now.” And then they get delighted as grandparents to see that the curse worked.
