Comic comments are a poor venue to teach physics, but tides result from the earth’s rotation beneath the moon’s steady gravitational pull, and nuclear EMP is no more of a threat to electrical equipment than the lightning strikes we have every day.

Calvin is a young child who comments like a child thinks. Why would we want him to be correct in every detail??? Wouldn’t be a comic strip then.
