Adam West was the definitive Batman of the 60’s. Even the DC comics followed his lead while the show was on the air. (Holy continuity, Batman!) Rest In Peace, Mr. West.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember the Penguin as the first bad guy that Adam and Burt fought with in the debut show, that when in the lair the floor was on a slant. (We now know that was just a cocked camera angle but it added something to the campy)
And I certainly miss the best Green Hornet ever, Van Williams died about a month ago or so. And he came closest to be coming a real crime fighter as a volunteer sheriff for a time. And was closer to Britt Reid than one would know.
When I was a boy and that show was on the air, an uncle of mine who lived in the L.A. area was a friend of West. My uncle asked West to phone me in Seattle…and he actually did! Great memory of a childhood that was happy and secure, back when I had family, a home and a future…unfortunately, the kids in school called me a liar and made fun of me…screw ’em, I still have the memory…God bless you, Mr. West, and thanks.

Crazy, kitchy, cornball, but watched it all the time. And Cesar Romero was the greatest Joker.

If there had been a real life Batman, his costume would have looked like Adam West’s and not the fact 6 pack suits of Batman and Superman today.

Adam West was better than Olan Soule (the man from "Dragnet 1967 & 1968).
