it’s gonna be a long two weeks

Aw, poor kid! But wouldn’t it be interesting if it turned out she actually enjoyed it?

To think, this wouldn’t even have had happened if Heart didn’t try running away to Hollywood.

Sorry Heart, no sympathy from me, you made your bed and now you have to lie in it.

She’ll have fun, but deny it all when home again, just to spite mom.

The first night’s the toughest, no doubt about it. They march you in, uneducated as the day you were born, brain burning and half-blind from those pop quizzes they throw at you. And when they put you in that cabin, and the door slams shut, that’s when you know it’s for real. Whole vacation blown away in the blink of an eye. Nothing left but all the time in the summer to think about where your life went wrong.

I never went to one of those camps. it would be horrible if it was centered on math.

She get to sleep on matrices and exercise with tensors.

That pretty much said it all.

This just doesn’t add up.

Maybe it’s her first time away from home, guys. I remember being terribly homesick for a day or two when I went to Campfire Girls Camp. I was about ten and it was my first time away from home. After I began to get involved with the activities, my homesickness faded. I was still too shy to shower in front of the other girls, so (like some of the others I kept my swimsuit on!

Will everyone be wearing a World War I era Boy Scout uniform?

I get the feeling that this is going to be the longest time Heart’s been separated from Mom.
