Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
The games and such are a way to âbreak the iceâ, form rapport, get everybody comfortable and such, in order to get the best and most out of everybody at campâŠ.donât wanna hold anything back, from acting exercises!
-
Of course, I donât know if any of the kids will go for âbean bagsâ⊠maybe a âhackey sackâ relayâŠ.
-
Of course, thereâs always the old âbreak âem down crying, then build âem back up into drama machinesâ approachâŠ
I also still say that Melodee Manezon is out in front of the Fuse, ârecruitingâ campers for her own summer camp. Nobody hurts her âQuilly-kinsâ, and gets away with it!âŠ.
-
âŠ.And, if it makes her a few bucks? WellâŠ. somebodyâs gotta pay for that expensive âstiff neck message thingyâ and that trip to Branson, MizzouâŠ. and that new custom turbo kit outfit for her Chevy NovaâŠ.and most of all, her replica Academy Awards statuetteâŠ. (Manezon: âYeahâŠthose snobs on the committee need to know who theyâre dealing with!âŠâ)
When does the camp start? This week? And theyâre just now deciding what to do there? Shouldnât they have done all planning that over a month ago, to have everything ready (supplies ordered, etc.)? Even worse, it sounds as if theyâre organizing activities for Kidz First, not for teenagers. I hope these kids arenât paying very much to attend!
This camp is for teens? Teens live are non-stop drama. Donât need a camp for that and teens donât need to go to camp while mommy and daddy are at work. I think the camp idea is going to be a bust.
Looks like a little âwhoâs in chargeâ issue brewing between Luann & Pru. Ultimately though â Iâd like to see a good friendship there. Will Pru run into a love interest? Maybe a new character?
Why not have cream pies standing by so if someone accidentally hits someone with a bean bag it could progress into a theatre pie in the face throwing exercise?
A mildly interesting set of circumstances is being set up here today. Drama camp has some potential for being amusing and interesting. I am not sure about the bean bag toss being all that exciting, but, probably (as other suggested) it will some sort of âice breakerâ activity.
Luannâs comment of âWe are about to change lives!â is, a bit much in my opinion, but as it apparently helped Pru, and it is definetly better to go into a (semi)teaching experience with enthusiasm, I will accept Luannâs comment as simply an expression of her exuberance.
The thing I find especially interesting with how this arc has changed is the potential we have in terms of a lot of new characters arriving. If Greg actually has us, the readers, experience âDrama Campâ it will be interesting to see these new characters. And, if he does this, will any of them become regulars in some fashion? Now, it very well could be that Greg will focus only on the planning of the camp (sort of like how he had planning for the Christmas play, but never showed the play itself). We will have to wait and see.
Pru says it could even help a guy like Leslie. We know a lot of the bad things Les has done, but what does Pru actually know about? I donât think she knows about stealing the donations, or picking up Oxâs tip money. Maybe Luann told her about the high school bullying. Pru may just think Les had a rough childhood like she did.
They are running a drama camp for teens and yet they are barely more then teens themselves. I also get the feeling from their plans for nametags and beanbags that they may be in over their heads. I certainly hope they have more experienced people lending a hand.
Now we finally get a hint about Pruâs âtough childhoodâ which may explain why the Big City Lesbian has moved to Nowhere Important, USA to waitress in a vaguely conceived event space and share a room with the pointless title character Luann.
Well, this isnât exactly a good sign. Neither oneâespecially Luannâis qualified for this job. At most Luann can entertain little kids for brief amounts of time. I went to theatre school when I was fifteen and it was run by adults. If Iâd seen people like these two in charge I would have begged my mom to take me home.
It should be interesting to see them do drama as a planned camp activity rather than as normal Luannverse activity. The mentioning of Leslie as a participant should raised all kinds of drama. Luann the name character in the strip, but I think she is used as a foil to advance the story of different characters in Luannverse. That is fine with me generally, although I must post a mild complaint; I would like to see some of the characters put on the shelf more, like Crystal and Knute, or Rose, or Delta more often, and more part of the developing story. Who knows anything could happen?

Letâs give the theater kids something to throw at each other. Yay! Next we will have them practice stage fighting!

If a bean toss is the big draw, the only two name tags they will have to make will say âLuâ and âPruâ.

How are teens going to let go of their phones long enough to throw a beanbag?
