Many conflicts were to the death because a live enemy would eventually kill you if given the chance. Enslaving the defeated was a sort of mercy option over simply killing him, but you might still need to cripple him to keep him from exacting unexpected revenge. One way to avoid that was to give hope of eventual freedom. Another was to use the most sadistic one as a buffer between the conquerors and the conquered. Estimates have placed the Twentieth Century at the top as least bloody even taking into account the world wars and other conflicts. i.e. Itās been baaaad.
Sir Rodney is attempting to find a more peaceful solution ā mostly because he expects to lose.
Oye given the size of that Hun,AND the size of his sword;and given Rodās more diminutive size which I would expect to mean he can move faster,Iād expect the usual tactical retreat from Rod.
Of course not. But this is comedy about early war, which was scaryā¦.and fright is an emotion most people will laugh at in exaggeration. However, if heās got the armor and the knighthood, he should know the drill. Remember, though, the feeling of ādiscomfort at a distanceā amuses many, which is what this is about. This aināt Prince Valiant.
Rodney has never been in combat. He leads from the rear. If he takes his armor off he would have three eye stalks and three legs. His title would be Hindmost. Thank you Larry Niven.
