No, the second definition: “doing the same thing and expecting the same result” is called,“Science”.

That saying is wrong. It has nothing to do with describing any mental illness.

Insanity

What about doing a different thing in a different way and expecting the same result?

Insanity is answering your wife when she asks if these shorts make her look fat.

Insanity is a legal term based on a 200 year old concept of mental illness of no acceptance today.

Sanity: a concept for those who cannot handle reality.

I once saw one of those oval stickers with “13.1” written in a very crazed typeface; underneath was written “Because I’m only half crazy.” Yet there was a series of stick figures in the same rear window depicting someone swimming, running, and biking.
