This is a case where “Better late than never” does not apply.

That’s what happens when you get back to nature. In many places, nature is cold, wet, and very muddy. Where I happen to live it is usually hot, dusty, and full of spiky things. And it is full of things which have evolved lots of nasty ways to kill you.

Man got away from nature for a reason

If it’s anything like my tenting holidays, it will rain until the day you have to go home.

uh uh….THAT duffel bag is still sitting by the front door of the house…

Been there, done this. A fire, some dry clothes to change into (THEN the rain gear), and a lot of alcohol made it a great night.

Dad needs to be put in the loony bin before he hurts someone.

Timing is everything.

Gotta love these comments. And, I hope the rain keeps up. Then it won`t come down!

There’s an easy answer to that question – it is always lovely the day you have to leave the vacation!

Its their own fault, they do predict the weather 10 days out now.

When this strip was written the forecasts were less reliable then they are now.

Just book a hotel room for goodness sake! You never know it might be bright and sunny the next day.

Mom has a look of pure hate.

Rain is difficult to draw (for me anyways), but I actually feel cold and wet when I read this strip

Forget that sexy fantasy of zipped together sleeping bags, while Calvin sleeps deeply.

Even in the face of all the hardships and dangers they faced during their four year adventure crossing North America, the members of the Corps of Discovery, almost to a man (and woman), agreed that the worst of it all by far was the winter of unrelenting rain they endured camped at the mouth of the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest.
