“Wait a minute, you went around telling everyone I kissed you. You kissed me, remember?”
Yes, he went there. Mike’s problem is who kissed whom first. Girls aren’t supposed to be the aggressor. Martha kisses Michael. Martha approaches him in school. And now Martha calls Michael up. It’s too much for Michael who apparently prefers his women to wait for him to make the first move.
Haha- love ones like this. Say what you will about Lynn and how she writes, but she was ALWAYS willing to make her own heroes look like hypocrites, and deal with contradictory behavior, even in her own “alter ego”!
When I was 15 I dated a boy from the next town over, so we couldn’t see each other as much as we would like. He would call me every afternoon at the same time. My mother told all of her friends NOT to call our house between 3 and 3:30 so that I could have the phone for that time. Yeah, my mom was cool like that.
My older sister started talking in this made up language her and her best friend learned just to be able to talk privately in a house full of siblings and our parents. This was back in the 80’s so there were no cell phones so she had to talk on the one house phone we had.
My wife said she once found her brother’s diary and sneaked a peek – and found it written in French! I can remember us not having a phone, and when we got one it was the wall type with a crank and about 10 on the line! Our number was 4 on 40 which meant 4 short rings on line #40.
Diaries are a problem – we like to make notes but how to keep others from reading them?

But when a parent eavesdrops on their child’s phone call, it’s more of a concern.

Another punchline could be “Mom, quit eavesdropping on my eavesdropping!”

Micheal, who cares who kissed who. If you liked it that’s all that matters……
